The communities of the Southern Kenai Peninsula lost a valuable educator in 2017, Heather Pancratz. To keep alive her commitment to her students and home community of Nikolaevsk, family and friends have created the Heather Pancratz Memorial fund. Heather is remembered for her belief in a loving God from which flowed compassion, love and a faithful devotion to family, friends, students and community. She was a remarkable educator with 17 years’ experience in the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District where she worked to establish an environment free of indoctrinating forces, where her students were free to respectfully ask questions; where they could develop critical thinking skills; where they could grow in their appreciation for learning and thrive. The Fund will continue her legacy through its support to students who exemplify Heather’s critical thinking, respectful questioning, and lifelong learning approach to life.
