Homer High student video is a top ten national contender in Toyota TeenDrive365 Video Challenge<\/strong> Three Homer High School<\/a> students triumphed over more than 1,500 entrants from across the country \u2013 the highest number of submissions ever received in the competition\u2019s five year history \u2013 to be one of the top ten finalists in the annual Toyota TeenDrive365 Video Challenge. The 56 second video, \u201cLet\u2019s Be Smart\u201d<\/a> topic is distracted driving, and it is up for a People\u2019s Choice award based on online votes received by April 25.*\u00a0<\/strong>Please vote online and share via social sites!<\/p>\n

Liam Somers, Johann Kallelid, and Lyndsay Brown are finalists and have 1 in 10 chance to win up to $15,000 and participate in the video production of a PSA with Toyota and Discovery Education!<\/p>\n

“I’ve\u00a0always loved\u00a0to get my friends together and\u00a0make movies for fun,\u00a0so when I saw that there was a scholarship being offered for making a video about distracted teen drivers,\u00a0I immediately rounded up some actors and began\u00a0filming. I’ve also realized, during\u00a0my few short years of driving,\u00a0just\u00a0how dangerous distracted\u00a0driving can be,\u00a0and I thought that by making this video\u00a0we could hopefully\u00a0help prevent future\u00a0accidents due to distractions.” \u2013 Liam Somers, Homer High School student
