To qualify for the classes, parents and guardians must contact their local area school to schedule a Pre-K assessment, and complete an application prior to the school screening appointment date.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Title I funded Pre-K programs available at specific sites in the KPBSD provide an excellent opportunity for children who turn four by September 1, 2017, to get a jumpstart on success in school<\/li>\n<li>KPBSD\u2019s Pre-K teachers are all certified and have specialized training in early childhood education<\/li>\n<li>Programs are engaging and developmentally appropriate, with an emphasis on preparing children to be successful when they enter<\/li>\n<li><em>Pre-K<\/em> <em>the KPBSD Way <\/em>focuses on experiences that facilitate each child\u2019s growth in the targeted areas of social and emotional development; approaches to learning; communication, language, literacy; cognitive development, and physical well-being.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u><a href=\"http:\/\/communications.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/files\/2017\/03\/002.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3529 size-thumbnail alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/communications.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/files\/2017\/03\/002-150x150.png\" alt=\"002\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/communications.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/files\/2017\/03\/017.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3530 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/communications.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/files\/2017\/03\/017-150x150.png\" alt=\"017\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/communications.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/files\/2017\/03\/IMG_3372.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3531 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/communications.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/files\/2017\/03\/IMG_3372-150x150.png\" alt=\"IMG_3372\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong><u>Parent or guardian action steps<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Contact local attendance area school for times and testing locations.
