District administration will meet with site councils and everyone interested in K-12 education to present the nearly $145 million preliminary budget for the school year beginning in August.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/communications.blogs.kpbsd.k12.ak.us\/files\/2020\/02\/2020-02-Community-Budget-Forums-1024x526.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6172\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p><strong>February Community Budget Forums begin\nat 6:00 PM <br \/>\n<\/strong>Site-Councils, together\nwith everyone who is interested\u2014parents, staff, students, business partners,\ncommunity members, and elected officials\u2014are invited to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Tuesday, February 18, 2020, Homer High School library<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Wednesday, February 19, 2020, Kenai Central High School library<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Thursday, February 20, 2020*, Soldotna High School library,<\/strong> plus remote broadcast to Nanwalek, Nikiski Middle-High, and Tebughna schools<\/li><li><strong>Tuesday, February 25, 2020, Seward High School library<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p><em>*Additional school locations receiving\nthe remote broadcast on Thursday, February 20, 6:00 PM will be updated at\nwww.KPBSD.org<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cAt the community budget forums, we will review the 2020-2021 (FY21) preliminary budget. Staff, parents, students and community members will have an opportunity to learn about our budget, provide input, and ask questions.\u201d <\/p><cite> \u2013Liz Hayes, Director of Finance, Kenai Peninsula Borough School District <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<p>Planning for the 2020-2021 school year, KPBSD projects a budget deficit of $2,255,900.&nbsp;The FY21 projected expenditure budget is $144,776,830.
