DESCRIPTION:We are excited to host Sankofa for a one week AIS residency ! \n“Established in 2017\, Sankofa Dance Theater Alaska has quickly become the premiere African dance ensemble in the land of the midnight sun. \nWe have a strong emphasis on bringing cultural diversity to Anchorage through arts and have accomplished so much within that time. \nOur mission is to is dedicated to bringing forth a renaissance of cultural creative arts throughout Alaska. We strive to inspire brilliance in our community regardless of age through art\, music\, dance\, and literary works as vehicles to bring enlivenment\, cultural exchange and unity.” \nFireweed Academy would like to thank Alaska State Legislature for its support of the Alaska State Council on the Arts (ASCA).  Through the support of the ASCA\, the Bunnell Street Arts Center is able to provide the Artists in School Program to Fireweed and other local schools.
