After completing my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education in 1989, I decided to take some time to enjoy life before I began working. I moved up to the mountains of Colorado where I grew up and became a ski instructor. Over the next 4 years I enjoyed skiing in the winter and fishing in Alaska in the summers. Obviously, I fell in love with Alaska and decided to move here full time. All three of my children were born and raised here, my youngest graduating from high school this year. My love of reading led me to a Masters in Reading which I used as an Interventionist at McNeil for 7 years. This will be my 6th year teaching at Fireweed, which should prove to be the most interesting! In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, traveling and spending time with my family.
