For 3^rd-5^th Graders

Starting on Tuesday, April 7^th, we will be taking assessments for the State of Alaska called AK STAR. That stands for the AlasKa SysTem of Academic Readiness. This test helps inform the state about each student’s level of proficiency for Math and Language Arts. Also, the 5^th grade students will have a Science test, which is only for 5^th, 8^th, and 10^th graders.

Please help your child(ren) to get enough sleep and eat a good breakfast before testing days. Students will be given frequent breaks during testing so they can refresh their brains. Also, we have snacks to share! I am very proud of their efforts on previous tests.

Here’s the testing schedule: Tuesday, Apr. 7^th is ELA, Wednesday, Apr. 8^th is Math, and Thursday, Apr. 9^th is Science.
