DESCRIPTION:For 3rd-5th Graders \nStarting on Tuesday\, April 7th\, we will be taking assessments for the State of Alaska called AK STAR. That stands for the AlasKa SysTem of Academic Readiness. This test helps inform the state about each student’s level of proficiency for Math and Language Arts. Also\, the 5th grade students will have a Science test\, which is only for 5th\, 8th\, and 10th graders. \nPlease help your child(ren) to get enough sleep and eat a good breakfast before testing days. Students will be given frequent breaks during testing so they can refresh their brains. Also\, we have snacks to share! DESCRIPTION:We are still in the planning stages of this overnight field trip to Kayaker’s Cove and Caine’s Head in Resurrection Bay. \n  \nLeaving Lowell Point at 10am on Wednesday May 13th with Miller’s Landing. \nTaxiing to Kayakers Cove where we will explore the tidal zone and surrounding environment. \nWe will prepare food on site and spend the night. \nThe next morning at 10:45 am Miller’s Landing will transport us to Caine’s Head where some students will hike up to the fort and others will explore the woods closer to the beach. \nMiller’s Landing will pick us up at Caine’s head at _____? and transport us back to Lowell Point.
