Dec 30 Rec Room Meet & Greet

Mrs. Brown’s High School students have put up a weather station for Nanwalek and it is operational! Go to Nanwalek Weather Station to check it out. Since we share a zip code with Homer, the website says Homer, but it is information from our students’ station. Also, if you search for Nanwalek in Weather Underground, it will bring up the information from our weather station. This is an ongoing project for our High School students and they will be continuing to work with it to make it better and better for our community.
KPBSD is seeking community input as it begins the process of selecting the next superintendent. The school board wants to hear your views and interests as it makes this decision. Please use the link or follow the QR code below to complete the survey.
Dear parents and guardians, the district is re-evaluating its Smart Start Plan and would like your input. Please complete the following survey and share your thoughts on our students attending school in-person or remotely during a Red Risk Level for Nanwalek (Red Risk meaning if we have COVID cases in the community of Nanwalek).

“It is with great sadness that we learned one of our long-time Nanwalek School staff members has died during a house fire on Tuesday. Our hearts go out to Jim Reinseth, his family, friends, and the staff, students, and community of Nanwalek where he has been an educator since 2007. We are working with our principal and the village to ensure that any additional support and comfort that we can offer is provided.” –Superintendent John O’Brien
Emotional support has been made available to staff and students to assist them as they navigate through this difficult process. Jim dedicated many years of service to the Nanwalek community and will be greatly missed.
Dear Parents and Students, Nanwalek will have in school learning Thursday, September 17. They are not shutting the water off to the community. We look forward to seeing our students in the building tomorrow!
