News Release: Community Budget Forums: planning for the 2021-2022 school year


Soldotna, March 5, 2021—Public involvement and input for the school district budget counts. District administration will meet with site councils and everyone interested in K-12 education to present the nearly $140 million preliminary budget for the school year beginning in August.

Community Budget Forums

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District requests input from staff, parents, and community members at the districtwide KPBSD budget development meetings via Zoom, scheduled at the following times:

  • Seward Community – Thursday, March 18, 2021 @ 6:00 pm via Zoom
  • Homer Community – Monday, March 22, 2021 @ 6:00 pm via Zoom
  • Central Peninsula Community – Tuesday, March 23, 2021 @ 6:00 via Zoom

Dr. Seuss Week

Attention North Wing Students (Pre-K to 2nd Gr)! This coming week we celebrate Read Across America & Dr. Seuss’ Birthday! Show your school spirit with our Dr Seuss themed dress up days!

Early Release Wednesday 2/17

Wednesday, February 17th is an Early Release Day! Seward Elementary students will be released at 1:30pm.

Note: Early release changes to 60 minutes from normal end of school day time, instead of 90 minutes, in order to meet the state requirement for a minimum student instructional day. Bus routes will be adjusted accordingly. PreK Note: on early release days, all afternoon PreK sessions are cancelled. Morning PreK sessions do occur. Thank you for your understanding.
