Dicke II and Dennis Washington.&nbsp; Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility Criteria:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Have completed high school (or earned a high school equivalency credential)<\/li><li>Cannot be taking pre-requisite courses and must be enrolled in your program<\/li><li>Must be enrolled full-time by Fall 2022 to be eligible.<\/li><li>Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program (up to 2 years) at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States<\/li><li>Demonstrated critical financial need (must be eligible to receive the Federal Pell grant as determined by completion of the FAFSA)<\/li><li>Demonstrated perseverance in overcoming adversity<\/li><li>Be under the age of 30<\/li><li>Be a United States citizen<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.&nbsp; All scholarship funds are paid directly to the institution on behalf of the recipient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a school official, you may sign up for our Stay Connected list so that you will be notified of important application updates and to print a poster to put up in your school.&nbsp; To do so, please visit our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fscholars.horatioalger.org%2Fhigh-school-officials%2F&amp;data=04%7C01%7Cddye%40kpbsd.k12.ak.us%7Cac637be188a44730690c08da1d9bb3de%7C74c4dea29b2a430f9af34873435aab97%7C0%7C0%7C637854851823495310%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&amp;sdata=7jAbye0GPiKEM46VSpXzo2BHTZCr2%2BPgLSqzvQbOIz0%3D&amp;reserved=0\"><strong>School Officials&nbsp;<\/strong><\/a>page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The CTE application is now open with a priority deadline on June 15, 2022.<br>Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis throughout the spring and summer.<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Career &amp; Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the generosity of Horatio Alger Association Members, Jim F.
