{"id":6384,"date":"2022-10-12T09:22:04","date_gmt":"2022-10-12T17:22:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kpbsd.org\/schools\/seward-middle\/?p=6384"},"modified":"2022-10-12T09:22:04","modified_gmt":"2022-10-12T17:22:04","slug":"parent-teacher-conferences-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kpbsd.org\/schools\/seward-middle\/parent-teacher-conferences-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Parent Teacher Conferences"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hello Seward Middle School Families!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is that time of the school year again, when we invite families into the school to talk about how their students are performing in their classes.&nbsp; We are trying to make it easier on both our families and our teachers:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We will be doing Student-Led Conferences again on Thursday, October 27 &amp; Friday, October 28.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Just show up <\/strong><em><strong>with your student<\/strong><\/em><strong> during the Student-Led block of time!!<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is similar to the way we did Conferences 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Semester last year because we want students to be able to show off what they have learned and what they have done in their classes directly to their parents.&nbsp; Students are doing work they should be proud of, and we want them to be show it directly to their adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Thursday, 10\/27: 4:00- 6:00<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Friday, 10\/28: 10:00- 12:00<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>-We will also be doing Grade-Level Conferences<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>If we have any <\/strong><em><strong>specific concerns<\/strong><\/em><strong> we will be contacting you to set up a conference with your student\u2019s core teachers.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By meeting all together at the same time we can make sure everyone is on the same page, and will allow the whole team to spend the time coming up with a plan going forward to make sure your student is successful.&nbsp; This also honors your time so you aren\u2019t making multiple trips throughout the day to the school building.&nbsp; Unless necessary, these conferences will be without the student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>There are times set aside for if you have any <\/strong><em><strong>specific concerns<\/strong><\/em><strong> that you would like to address with your student\u2019s teachers.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We do have some slots available if you have specific questions you want to discuss with the grade level team as well.&nbsp; These conferences will also be without the student.&nbsp; For 6th grade please email Mr Cee Jay at <a href=\"mailto:CLevine@KPBSD.k12.ak.us\">CLevine@KPBSD.k12.ak.us<\/a> and for 7<sup>th<\/sup>\/8<sup>th<\/sup> please email Mr Ellsworth at <a href=\"mailto:CEllsworth@KPBSD.k12.ak.us\">CEllsworth@KPBSD.k12.ak.us<\/a>.&nbsp; If you would like to meet with Keri Russell\/Quest teacher, please email her at <a href=\"mailto:KRussell2@KPBSD.k12.ak.us\">KRussell2@KPBSD.k12.ak.us<\/a>. &nbsp;However, we would like to focus on the student-led conferences because we believe that it is best for students, families, and the school for students to take an active part in this process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any questions or concerns please reach out to Mr. Potter 224-9025<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Seward Middle School Families!!
