Check out some of the events at the Sheldon Jackson Museum this month!

While every day is bully prevention day, we make a point in October to talk about all we can do to stand up for our friends and classmates. Think about this:

Bystander: someone who sees bullying happening but does not do anything to stop it.

Upstander: someone who does something that prevents or reduces the bullying they see. An upstander comes to the aid of another person who is being bullied by showing them kindness.

Poetry is an accessible form of literature that allows people to reflect on important issues or just have some rhyming fun. Check out the National Poetry Month page on the Poets.org website, participate in the Dear Poetry multimedia education project, or swing by and grab a book of poetry.

It’s always interesting to see how much things change over time, and then again how much things might stay the same. Take a look at the information here: Women’s History Month and see if there’s something that makes you go “Hmmm?”
