Intervention Support
We have one full time interventionist and one part time tutor who provide small group reading interventions for students in need of additional instruction. Teachers are also trained to provide in-class interventions for students who need additional support.

Our Sterling Falcons are safe, responsible, and respectful.
Staff teaches students what it means to be safe, responsible, and respectful in the many areas of our school.
Students have the opportunity to earn recognition and pom poms for following school rules.
Our staff loves recognizing students for doing the right thing!
Kindness is also very important to our Falcon community. Each day we share a kindness quote over the morning announcements. It is important that our school is a welcoming and emotionally safe environment for everyone. Students play a big role in this! Our staff focuses on cultivating kindness amongst our students all year long. Kindness, pass it on!
Student involvement in caring for our school is very important to Sterling Elementary. Our 6th grade leadership students manage our recycling program each week. They also help with campus beautification, selling popcorn, and other small jobs around the building. Students in our self-contained classroom help by watering plants, shredding papers, and delivering student messages. Each day two student volunteers from the fifth and sixth grades help the younger students in the lunchroom. We are a community of learners where each student plays an important role!

Goals for the year
- By the end of the 24-25 school year, we will ensure that the number of K-3 students reading at or above benchmark will increase from 47% to 58%. By the end of the 24-25 school year, we will ensure that 80% of students in grades 4-6 who are present for 90% or more of the school year will become successful readers by making annual growth on their Reading MAP assessment.
- By the end of the 24-25 school year, we will decrease the percentage of students who are chronically absent from 51% to 40%.
- By the end of the 24-25 school year, we will decrease the number of students in need of additional behavior support by 10%.
