Seward Schools will open with a TWO-HOUR DELAY START on Friday 12/10/21.
If weather & road conditions warrant a full closure for any schools, that additional announcement will be made about 7:00 AM.

The school district has new rules so kids who become close contacts can remain in school following these 3 requirements:

1. Be symptom free and monitor Covid symptoms for 14 days.
2. Wear a mask for 14 days.
3. Test with antigen tests or molecular tests.  The start of testing is done when a student is notified and again 5-7 days later.  The tests can be done at school with parent/guardian permission.  If the student has been positive with Covid-19 in the last 90 days and is symptom free, testing is not recommended. 

At home Covid test kits are the antigen tests.  The at home Covid tests require tests on day 1 and then 36-48 hrs later. Those are being widely sold in pharmacies and major stores now.  The district is accepting antigen tests now. Our winter break is around the corner and in time for a much needed break for us all to play and just chill.  Many of you will be gathering with friends and family.  Perhaps flying internationally or domestically (lucky you).  These at home covid tests can be very useful if you have any concerns.

Happy Thanksgiving! Kenai Peninsula Borough School District schools and district office are closed Thursday and Friday, November 25-26, 2021

Krispy Kreme fundraising packets and money are due to the school office tomorrow, Tuesday, November 23rd.  PTA will only order for packets and money they receive back by tomorrow, 11/23.  Thanks!

You can order pictures online or picture forms are available at the office. Picture packets have not been delivered, we will send an email home when they are sent home with your child. If you would like retakes for you child please send in the picture packet with them on picture day.

Veterans Day School Holiday – Thursday, November 11

Many KPBSD schools make time near Veterans Day for celebrations, assemblies, and learning; please call your neighborhood school to discover what is taking place near you. In 2021, Veterans Day is a KPBSD school holiday*. Please make time to thank or remember a meaningful story about the men and women in your life who have served, or are serving in active duty.

Your purchases can be sent home with a student or picked up by you at the school. Thank you for supporting our Scholastic Book Fair! All proceeds benefit our school library program.

Students will have a chance to shop the book fair with their ELA classes on Tuesday (6^th-graders) and Wednesday (7^th/8^th-graders). Payment options: cash, check (made out to Seward Middle School) or credit card (if you intend to pay by card, please send a note with your phone number and I’ll call you to process the payment).
