Kayaker’s Cove Field Trip

May 13 @ 8:00 am - May 14 @ 5:00 pm

We are still in the planning stages of this overnight field trip to Kayaker’s Cove and Caine’s Head in Resurrection Bay.

 

  1. May 13th.
    1. Travel/self drive to Lowell Point
    2. Park and get geared staged by 9:30 (café will be open for breakfast/coffee)
    3. Departing Millers Landing via water taxi: 10 am
    4. Arriving at Kayakers Cove: 10:30 am
      1. Where we will explore the tidal zone and surrounding environment.
      2. We will need to prepare lunch, snacks and dinner.
  2. May 14th
    1. Preparing Breakfast-packing up lunches and snacks for on the trail
    2. Leaving Kayakers Cove: 10:45 boat arrives and load up
    3. Arriving at Caines Head: 11:30 am
      1. 4-mile round trip with 400 feet elevation gain. 4 hours of hiking/exploring
      2. Lunch and Snacks from the morning prep
      3. Some students will be exploring the forest closer to the beach and not complete the entire hike-dependent on ability.
    4. Pick up at Caines Head: 3:30 pm
    5. Arrive at Millers at 4 pm
