PBIS at K-Beach Elementary
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. PBIS is a school-wide positive and proactive approach for behavior management. The approach establishes a positive climate and creates safe and predictable environments for all students to succeed socially, emotionally, and academically. We have clear and consistent expectations for behavior and we teach students how to behave in each area of our school. We celebrate the students who follow our school rules and provide supports for students who need additional help meeting behavior expectations.
Students work towards earning individual recognition and school-wide celebrations as they master the expectations in each of our four focus areas. Ultimately, PBIS allows our school to spend less time focusing on negative behaviors and more time on learning and reinforcing valuable citizenship skills.
