National Red Cross Day of Action

Greetings Seward, Lowell Point, Bear Creek, Moose Pass, and Cooper Landing!

The American Red Cross of Alaska is always here to support you, the communities of Eastern Kenai Peninsula!  Our communities have been selected for the national spotlight during this year’s American Red Cross National Day of Action on Saturday, May 8th

Local volunteers will be working in our Eastern Kenai Peninsula communities to help make our homes safer from fires and more disaster resilient, at no cost to you!

We will provide a brief education piece that consists of a discussion with households on forming a 2 minute escape plan, testing your smoke alarms, and providing a referral for a smoke alarm installation if you do not have one installed already.  (Click this link to see a video demonstration)

At this time, the American Red Cross is unable to do in-home fire installations this year to protect our community members during the Covid-19 Pandemic.  However, we have provided free smoke alarms and partnered with the fire departments in our Eastern Kenai Peninsula communities to assist you with installation.

Our volunteer teams will not be going unannounced door-to-door so we’re asking community members to sign up for an appointment.

Getting an appointment –either virtual or at your doorstep, whichever is your preference—can be done two ways:

Calling the Seward Fire Station: 907-224-3445

Or simply following this link to book directly:

Please take a moment and sign up today up for an appointment on Saturday, the 8th of May.  One of our volunteers will call you to confirm your preferred time. While you’re reading this, please forward to two or three family members/friends/colleagues and encourage them to join.  Your success in making our communities more resilient to disaster threats depend on local action!

Thank you in advance for your support and for helping to make our communities on the Easter Kenai Peninsula stronger and more prepared!

Seward Secondary and Site-Based Council Survey

Dear member of Seward Secondary’s larger learning community,

In an effort to provide continuous improvement and expanded opportunities for the students we serve, Principal Trevan Walker, in partnership with the Seward Area Site-Based Council asks that you take a few minutes to complete the Seward Secondary Schools Community Feedback survey.  The data that we collect from this survey will provide the staffs at both Seward Middle and Seward High, and the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Leadership Team, valuable information in the planning and implantation of next year’s course offerings and beyond.  It also provide guidance in important governance decisions and discussions occurring in both schools.

Thank you for you kind attention to this important survey.

Sincerely,

Trevan Walker, Principal

Seward Middle and Seward High
