Your Input Needed: KPBSD Budget Planning & Community Meetings

Dear KPBSD Stakeholders,

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District (KPBSD) is facing a $17 million budget deficit for the 2025-2026 school year to maintain current staffing, programs, and services. The district is asking for your input to assist in making difficult decisions, to include potential reductions and eliminations of services.

We value your input and invite you to participate in this process using the Balancing Act tool, an interactive budget simulation that allows you to explore funding trade-offs and provide feedback on district priorities. Your perspective as a stakeholder is crucial in helping shape these decisions. Please provide your input prior to the March 3, 2025, Board of Education meeting.

Provide your input using the Balancing Act tool: https://go.kpbsd.org/fy26-balancingact

Additionally, we encourage staff, parents, and community members to attend a districtwide budget development meeting in your area:

Homer Community – Tuesday, February 11, 2025 | 6:00 PM | Homer High Library
Central Peninsula – Wednesday, February 19, 2025 | 6:00 PM | KCHS Library
Seward Community – Thursday, February 20, 2025 | 6:00 PM | Seward High Library

Your voice matters in shaping the future of KPBSD. Thank you for taking the time to participate and share your input.

Sincerely,

KPBSD Administration
