KMTA wants to pass along the happy news that Fresh Air Fridays are back this fall. The programs will be afterschool on Fridays, with dates offered across September and October (see attached flyer for dates). This year, Fresh Air Fridays in Seward are getting a refresh, with separate programs alternating by week for K–3 and grades 4–6.
For those families who may not be familiar with KMTA programs – Fresh Air Fridays offer kids a chance to spend the afternoon outside (2:30-5:30pm) for adventures along with other local kids. Past fall excursions have included hikes, berry picking, beach play, building forts and campfires, and creating nature-inspired art. The programs start/end at Seward Elementary. Early release (1pm-5:30pm) and in-service (9am-4pm) day programs are also being offered!
KMTA can provide loaner gear (boots and raingear) and scholarships are available, supported from Youth360.
Registration for Fresh Air Fridays opens this Friday (8/28). Families can book online through our website or can email Callie with questions – education@kmtacorridor.org. Here is a link to KMTA’s Youth Programs booking page: https://kmtacorridor.org/youth-programs/
