Two Updates!

Hello! We have 2 informational items for you:

1) We just wanted to remind you that tomorrow, Friday, March 18th, is an early release day with students being dismissed 1-1/2 hours earlier than normal. Kindergarteners released at 1:20 and 1st through 5th grades at 1:30. Bus service will be provided and your child will arrive home 1-1/2 hours earlier than they usually do.

2) Another important message comes from Tony at Apple Bus

Starting Monday, March 21st, we are going to take children that live on Nash Road and Salmon Creek/Camelot, off of bus 3 and move them to bus 1 (only in the afternoon). Morning will stay as it is). We are hoping that this will bring some of the children’s ride times down and help with the overcrowding on bus 3. I am sorry for the changes but we hope that this will be a good change. I have been in contact with some parents and the driver of bus 3 is telling kids and parents when he drops children off in the afternoons of these new changes.

My job is to make things as easy as possible on everyone while keeping drivers and students safety a number one priority. Bus 3 has been averaging over 78 kids on the bus for a while now, and some kids are on the bus for over an hour. My hope is that this change will bring down ride times and also make route 3 more manageable for the driver and the students. Thank you for being so patient and flexible with us while we go through this rough time of staffing but I promise that we are doing the best we can with what we have.  Please feel free to reach out to me (Tony) with any questions or concerns you might have at (907) 224-3559. Thank you.
