Due to the continuation of remote instruction, all Seward High School Conferences will be conducted virtually through zoom.

Signups will close at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 28th. After that, appointments will need to be made directly with each teacher.

On Wednesday, October 28th after the closing of the scheduling window you will receive an email with the personal zoom link for each teacher that you have scheduled a conference with.

*Please note that you will need to log onto your virtual conference at the time you chose on the signup.

Students (grades 9-12) are eligible to submit an original essay with topics based on original research and deal with an event, person, philosophy or ideal associated with the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution. 

In Alaska, students will first compete at the State level and myself and other SAR Compatriots will select the winner.  That essay will then be entered into the National competition where the winning essay will earn $5000, a medal, and a trip to a recognition ceremony.  2^nd and 3^rd place also earn cash awards.  

State-level awards include $500 for 1^st place, $250 for 2^nd place, and $100 for 3^rd place with recognition certificates as well as a medal for the first place winner. 

Essays will be e-mailed directly to me in PDF format and the deadline is December 31, 2017.
