Parent Teacher Conferences

Hello Seward Middle School Families!!

It is that time of the school year again, when we invite families into the school to talk about how their students are performing in their classes.  We are trying to make it easier on both our families and our teachers:

We will be doing Student-Led Conferences again on Thursday, October 27 & Friday, October 28.

  • Just show up with your student during the Student-Led block of time!!

This is similar to the way we did Conferences 2nd Semester last year because we want students to be able to show off what they have learned and what they have done in their classes directly to their parents.  Students are doing work they should be proud of, and we want them to be show it directly to their adults.

  • Thursday, 10/27: 4:00- 6:00
  • Friday, 10/28: 10:00- 12:00

-We will also be doing Grade-Level Conferences

  • If we have any specific concerns we will be contacting you to set up a conference with your student’s core teachers.

By meeting all together at the same time we can make sure everyone is on the same page, and will allow the whole team to spend the time coming up with a plan going forward to make sure your student is successful.  This also honors your time so you aren’t making multiple trips throughout the day to the school building.  Unless necessary, these conferences will be without the student.

  • There are times set aside for if you have any specific concerns that you would like to address with your student’s teachers.

We do have some slots available if you have specific questions you want to discuss with the grade level team as well.  These conferences will also be without the student.  For 6th grade please email Mr Cee Jay at CLevine@KPBSD.k12.ak.us and for 7th/8th please email Mr Ellsworth at CEllsworth@KPBSD.k12.ak.us.  If you would like to meet with Keri Russell/Quest teacher, please email her at KRussell2@KPBSD.k12.ak.us.  However, we would like to focus on the student-led conferences because we believe that it is best for students, families, and the school for students to take an active part in this process.

Thanks!

Any questions or concerns please reach out to Mr. Potter 224-9025
