4th and 5th grade basketball intermurals start on Tuesday 11/5, next week! Have your student grab a sports packet from the office if they have not participated in sports yet this year. If they have, you don’t need to fill it out again, but you will need to bring your fee to Ms. Kathi in the office by the first day of practice.

If you were not happy with your original photos and would like a retake, place send your child to school with the orginal picture packet on November 12 to hand directly to the photographer. Lifetouch will replace your orignial order with the retake portraits.

It’s Scholastic Book Fair time!!! The fair will be open October 21-24, and each class will have a chance to shop during their library time. Look for letters coming home this week with your student’s class shopping time. The fair will also be open to the public Monday through Wednesday, 2:30-3:15 p.m., and Thursday, Oct. 24, 9:00-1:00 and 2:00-4:00.
All proceeds from the fair benefit our school library program!
If you would like your student to be able to make purchases at the book fair, please see below for payment options:
* Cash (preferably in an envelope with your child’s name on it)
* Check (made out to Seward Elementary)
* Credit card— Send in a note and include your phone number. I will call you for your credit card information by Wednesday afternoon and your child’s purchase will be set aside until we have processed the payment.

Good morning! We just want to remind you that tomorrow, Friday, October 18th, is an early release day with students being dismissed 90 minutes early. Kindergarteners will come out the doors at 12:50 and all other students at 1:00. Busses will be dropping your children off 90 minutes earlier as well.
Just another reminder that next week there will be no school on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 24th and 25th due to Parent/Teacher conferences.

Seward Elementary’s 1st Annual Mini Pumpkin Decorating Contest + Coin Drive
Step 1: Buy a mini pumpkin OR if there are none left at the store, find a smaller sized one!
Step 2: Decorate your pumpkin! Be unique! Use paint, googly eyes, whatever you can think of! NO carving, blood, gore, violence.
Step 3: Bring the pumpkin to Mrs. Beck’s classroom by October 14th.
Step 4: On October 14th, voting will begin. Each pumpkin will have its own container for coins/cash. The pumpkin with the most amount of money will win a fun prize!
*ALL proceeds will go to soldiers serving over seas. Whether we decide to pack care boxes or donate the money, these funds will be given to support our United States Military!
