Profile

Ms. Sommers started her teaching career in Wisconsin before moving up to Alaska in the summer of 2019. She has taught many subjects both through pre-professional opportunities and in her first few years of teaching, but she most loves Language Arts, having received a degree in Secondary Education and English Language Arts from Marquette University. She is also interested in helping students find activities they enjoy through school, and has coached volleyball and soccer at Skyview in addition to advising Student Council. In her spare time, Ms. Sommers enjoys reading, playing with her dog, Blaze, and exploring the many outdoor opportunities living in Alaska has to offer!
