Nolan Freeman, a freshman in our SOHI family, decided to use this extra time with his family to help him complete an assignment for his art teacher, Mr. Jenness. Nolan got together with his cousin Amalia, Aunt Jen, and Grandma Bonnie to create centerpieces for their Thanksgiving tables. Using some old books in different genres that each of them enjoy (Nolan chose a National Geographic to show his love of travel), they each created happy little hedgehogs and thoroughly enjoyed the entire process. How cool is that?! Nolan, the fact that you’re using this time to create memories and strengthen bonds with the ones you love shows you are #SOHIstrong. We are so proud of you! Keep up the awesome work!
Michael Zichko, a junior here at SOHI, is using his time at home during remote instruction to help his family. This week, under the guidance of his CAD/CAM teacher, Mr. Carlson, Michael was able to build his sister a bunk bed from new lumber to finished project! He submitted these pictures and talked through the process with Mr. Carlson. He was even able to co-host a Zoom meeting where he shared his screen to help his peers with some of the concepts. Way to go, Michael! Your willingness to adapt to these new learning structures and be innovative in this time shows that you are #SOHIstrong. We are so proud of you!
Staff members at SOHI came to work in costume to try to bring home the BEST DRESSED trophy. Students can vote for their favorites on the SOHI Student Council Instagram page through Friday. Go cast your votes! #SOHIstrong #spookyseason

Don’t forget to bring your masks and a device (chromebook, laptop, etc.) if you have one. Remember to watch our videos on the front page of the website under Mr. Graham’s picture so you know the basic expectations. We can’t wait to see you!
Welcome back to school! (Well…sort of.) You should be actively working on classes online this week. Check with your teachers for their expectations regarding class meetings via Zoom and upcoming assignments. Also, students who will be doing assignments using our Packet System will be picking up and dropping off work on Wednesdays at the front office.
