MAP – Math

At Soldotna High School, our students are making strides in their mathematical understanding. This year, 40% of our students have met or surpassed their Growth Targets in Math, showcasing significant progress in foundational subjects like Algebra and Geometry. We are proud of the determination our students have shown, and we remain committed to supporting them in reaching new academic milestones each year.

In Language Arts, our focus on fostering strong communication and critical thinking skills is paying off. This year, 47% of our students have achieved or exceeded their Growth Targets in Language Arts courses, including Language Arts 9 and 10. Goals for the year

  1. By May 2025, we will ensure that 70 percent of 9th and 10th-grade students who are present for 90% or more of the school year will become successful readers by meeting or exceeding their annual NWEA MAP Growth projected goal in reading.
  2. By May 2025, we will ensure that 75 percent of SOHI teachers receive basic literacy instruction and strategies training and implement at least one strategy within their classroom practice.
  3. Positive Reinforcement program to support KPBSD’s Strategic Plan Priority 1 – Student Success and Priority 2 – School Climate
