2020 – 2021 Highlights and Honors

Softball – NLC Conference Champions. Coach Bill Bell Co-COY. Hannah Hatfield, Grace Godfrey and Zoe Adkins 1st Team All-Conference, 2nd Team Delilah Harris, HM Haylee Owen. Haylee Owen named to All State Tourney Team.

Baseball – Harrison Metz 1st Team All-Conference & Player of the Year for South Central Conference, Austin Ceccarelli 2nd Team All-Conference. At Large Berth to Div. II State, 4th place at Conference. 6th place finish at State. Harrison Metz and Jonathon Gregoire named to All State Tourney Team. Metz broke state strikeout record (17) in one game. Won the Sportsmanship Award at State.

Track & Field – Girls placed 4th at State, Boys were 10th. Laura Inama State & Region Champion in 300H and Long Jump. Girls 4 X 400 Relay Team State & Conference Champions (Miller, Inama, Gummer, McCorison). Brooke Miller 2nd Place in 800 meters and Josh Manwiller Shot Put (4th place discus). Liam James 3rd place in 200 meters. Gracie Gummer 2nd place in 400 meters. Coach Bob Ostrom Div. II Conference Boys COY.

Boys Soccer – 3rd Place at Regions. 1st Team All-Conference; Parker Lowney, Clayton Beachy and Eyob Knapp.

Girls Soccer – 5th Place Finish at Div. II State. Won the Sportsmanship Award at State. Sela Weisser named to All Tourney Team. 2nd Place at Regions – State Qualifier. Coach Mike Tozzo COY, Debbie & Felicia Weisser and Paige Jones 1st Team All-Conference recognition.

Wrestling – 6th Place Finish at State for Boys and Girls Teams. Sadie Blake 103 & Aileen Lester 130 were Conference and Girls State Champions. Sadie was named Kachemak Conference O.W. for second year in a row. Josh Bradshaw 171 was Division II State Champion. Austin Cline 130 (Conference Champion) and Russel Nyvall 140 were Division II State Runner Ups. Zach Knott 119 placed 4th and Nestor Kalugin 160 was 5th.

BB Cheer – 1st Team All South Central Conference Honors; Leah Evans, Ally High, Sameah McGhee.

Boys BB – 1st Team All South Central Conference Honors: Clayton Beachy. 2nd Team Honors; Parker Lowney, Eyoab Knapp, River Mann. Team was #1 seed in the South Division placing 5th at Regions.

Girls BB – 1st Team All South Central Conference Honors; Hannah Hatfield (2nd Team All-State 3A), Laura Inama. 2nd Team: Delilah Harris. Girls Team #1 Seed in South Division, finished 3rd at Regions, earned the AT Large Berth to state.

Hockey – Division II State Champions. Keegan Strong, Hunter Green and Casey Otis earned all tourney honors. Keegan Strong was MVP of the Peninsula Conference, Casey Otis and Haylee Owen was 1st Team All Conference Selections, Coach Mike Barth was Coach of the Year.

  • Eleanor Sweeney – 4th place Dramatic Interpretation
  • Larry Dunn – 2nd place Domestic Extemporaneous Speech
  • Larry Dunn – Semifinalist, Lincoln Douglas Debate (1st place speaker points)
  • Spencer Co –  Semifinalist, Lincoln Douglas Debate
  • Zach Marley –  Quarterfinalist, Lincoln Douglas Debate  (2nd place speaker points)
  • Thea Person –  5th place Extemporaneous Commentary

Swim & Dive – The girls team won the Peninsula Championships and Madison Story was named Swimmer of the Year. There was an unofficial state meet in which Madison Story won the 200 IM and 100 Breastroke. Coach Caleb Miller also gathered the Coach of the Year Honors for the Peninsula teams. Here are all the school records that were set; 200 Medley Relay – Carly Nelson, Madison Story, Adeline Berry, Hannah Overdorf 1:50.71, 200 Freestyle – Madison 1:58.01, 200 Individual Medley – Madison 2:06.03, 50 Freestyle – Madison 24.68, 200 Freestyle Relay – Adeline, Madison, Carly, Hannah 1:41.21, 100 Freestyle – Madison 53.83, 100 Backstroke – Madison 59.05, 400 Freestyle Relay – Madison, Hannah, Carly, Adeline 3:45.74.

Volleyball – The team placed 3rd in the Peninsula Championships. Laura Inama was MVP of the Peninsula Season, Stephanie Carroll was voted Coach of the Year. Tonda Smude and Sela Weisser was named to the 1st Team All Peninsula Team. Tonda was earned the Good Sport Award.

Football – Peninsula Conference Champions. Carter Tennison Offensive Player of the Year, Coach Justin Zank Coach of the Year. 1st Team; Carter Tennison QB, Sly Gaona & Kian Smith WR, River Mann OL, Sean Pilant OL & DL, Josh Manwiller OL & LB. 2nd Team; Coleman Stephens OL, Kamdyn Doughty DL, Nestor Kalugin LB. Team Finished 3 – 2 Record in the KPBSD.

XC Running – Coach Bob Ostrom was DII Coach of the Year for the Region III South Division. Seamus McDonough (4), Lance Seneff (6), Eryn Field (4), Frida Renner (6) & Elena Badajos (8) all qualified for Div. II State Meet.
