Athletics

It is the mission of the SOHI Athletics department to continually provide our students with opportunities to compete at the highest level throughout the state of Alaska. Our coaches bring years of experience and promote excellence through interscholastic competition and development of essential skills. More importantly, our coaches and staff seek to enhance the academic experience of our student and provide them with a system of support that will provide for a student’s successful transition to opportunities beyond the walls of Soldotna High School.

Student-athletes at Soldotna High School are leaders in our community, serving as role models on and off the field of competition. We ask our student-athletes to go above and beyond the normal expectations of a typical student, often requiring individual sacrifices that ultimately benefit the team, school and community. Together, SOHI athletes, coaches and staff members are working to build a tradition of success that is unmatched throughout the state of Alaska.

All student-athletes need to complete 10 practices before participating in a competitive
event.  A student-athlete cannot be considered eligible to practice until a physical and paperwork is on file with the school.  Also, participation fees must be paid before the first scheduled trip of the season (or at a prior date set by the coach).  Soldotna High School will be utilizing PlanetHS for electronic filing of all paperwork.
