Spirit of Kindness

Soldotna Montessori is committed to helping in the community, and we also are committed to helping our school families. Our school’s Spirit of Kindness program was developed in 2017 and is intended to provide assistance to SMCS families in need each holiday season. The program is set up to help provide for gifts for each child in the household, 6th grade and younger (including preschoolers.) Their wish lists may be needs or wants and may be toys, clothing, etc. (If clothing is on the list, please be sure to include sizes.)

SMCS families who may need help during the holidays can request assistance through our Spirit of Kindness program. SMCS families who would like to help out are able to choose and shop for requested items that appear on our Spirit of Kindness list which are specific to items provided by our participating families. All names of families are kept confidential.

This program is well-received and a positive event for our school family, as well as a fine opportunity for us to care for each other. We have also included items that would be helpful to add to our school Food Pantry during this time, but supply those only after our family requests are complete.

Spirit of Kindness forms are accepted from November 1st through the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
Purchased gifts and completed lists are made available to the requesting family during the last week before Christmas Break.
The Spirit of Kindness form can be found HERE.

If you are a family who would like to help out, requested list items will be available beginning on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Purchased items need to be delivered to the school by the Monday before Christmas Break.

While we would like nothing better than to fulfill all three of each child’s wishes, fund limitations may not allow us to do so; however, we will be able to provide at least one gift for each child.
