Message from the Principal

PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Dear Mariner Families,

“Entrance…new school year!”

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!  I am so excited to Homer High School’s new principal. It is a blessing to be part of this team and in this community.

I hope your summer was filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. As I step into my first official year as principal, I’m especially excited to reconnect with many of you I’ve worked with in the past and to build new relationships with those I haven’t yet met. Homer High is a special place, and I’m honored to be part of this community once again.

This year brings some changes to our staffing and schedule, as adjustments were made districtwide to meet new requirements. While our class offerings and sizes look a little different, our staff has approached these shifts with creativity, problem-solving, and a focus on keeping student learning at the center of every decision. The result is a schedule that continues to offer strong academic opportunities, engaging electives, and a variety of ways for students to connect, learn, and grow.

We are committed to building trust, communicating openly, and engaging your child in meaningful learning every single day. As parents and families, your role is essential. We need to work together to support our students, and I want you to know my door is always open, whether it’s to share an idea, ask a question, or simply say hello.

I’m excited for the year ahead and grateful for your continued support. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or have been a Mariner family for years, know that we are committed to making this a year of learning, connection, and community pride.

Go Mariners!
