New Teaching Talent - Paulene Rizzo
KPBSD welcomes 35 new classroom teachers to our District this school year. We will periodically highlight one new classroom teacher as part of our series, "New Teaching Talent at KPBSD".
Paulene is the new Computer Technology/Library Teacher at Nikiski North Star Elementary. She has been a substitute in the school for four years and says that she is very excited to take on her first teaching job at the school. "I love being at this school and I am really looking forward to all of the projects with the kids," explains Rizzo.
Paulene and her husband moved from Utah to Alaska twenty years ago. Paulene’s husband, Joseph, is a teacher at Nikiski High School. She and her husband have six children ranging in age from nine to 18. In her spare time, Paulene lovingly cares for her numerous dogs, and is a dog agility trainer and handler. She is also active in the Triumvirate Theatre in Soldotna.
