The mediator and the District’s independent litigation counsel developed this release to reach final resolution in this matter and to settle with finality any related claims:
Matthew Fischer and the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District have come to a mutually agreeable resolution of the legal dispute that has existed between them for over ten years. The district acknowledges that Mr. Fischer gave notice to the district and its third-party health care administrator regarding his insurance settlements and that he did not act in any fraudulent or dishonest manner in his representation of health care costs owed to the district. The district regrets the stress that this entire process has caused Mr. Fischer and is appreciative of Mr. Fischer and his attorney working to resolve this case amicably. The district recognizes Mr. Fischer’s longstanding service to his students and has agreed to dismiss its lawsuit against him.
