It didn’t take Stephanie Belger long to fall in love with her new home. She moved to the Kenai Peninsula from the Midwest — born in Ohio, raised in Nebraska — for a position teaching at Redoubt Elementary School.

“I have fallen in love with Alaska already. I enjoy the snow, love the mountains, and having fun outdoors,” Stephanie said. “I love living in the Last Frontier. It is fun exploring and snow boarding.”

She’s been enjoying her love of teaching for much longer.

“I love fostering the joy of learning within my students. Learning is a lifelong pleasure that can always grow,” she said.

She sets that example in her own life. Stephanie has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, with an endorsement in early childhood education and social studies in kindergarten through eighth grade. She spent two years as an associate teacher in Iowa public schools while obtaining her teaching degree, and has been the owner and director of a summer daycare.

Currently she’s pursuing a master’s degree through Lesley University.

Stephanie and her husband, David Belger, have two sons, David, 9, and Jacob 7. When she does have free time, she indulges in some of her other loves — scrapbooking, reading, playing board games and enjoying family time.
