Kenai Peninsula Safari Club Scholarship 2025-26
Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula Chapter of Safari Club International is a non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife conservation, education, humanitarian efforts, and protecting our hunting heritage. To further these goals, we will award a $2000 scholarship to a graduating senior from any accredited public or private high school within the Kenai Peninsula Borough. To be eligible, the student must be accepted at an accredited college, university, trade school or vocational program and enroll for a minimum of 12 semester hours or full-time equivalent. If you love to hunt, it’s an added bonus.
Scholarship monies will be disbursed as reimbursement to the applicant’s chosen institution of higher learning. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition or books and supplies. Any funds not used by the recipient will revert to the AKPSCI scholarship fund.
The scholarship selection will be based on the following criteria:
- ESSAY content and grammar. SCI reserves the right to publish essays and your name.
- Topic: What can Youth and SCI do in partnership to prevent gun violence in schools?
- Financial need.
- Scholastic achievement
- Personal resume outlining your school activities and civic involvement (list years of each), work history, hunting experience, and educational goals. 1 or 2 pages.
- Complete application with the financial statement.
- Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from school personnel.
- 1 Bonus points if parent is SCI member.
- 2 Bonus point for each year/s the student has volunteered for SCI.
- Alaska education institution preference.
