KPBSD employee Health Care plans

Once a year changes to the Health Care plan can be made between November 14, 2016 and December 16, 2016. Election changes will be effective January 1, 2017.

New for 2017

  • Choice between two medical plans: Traditional plan, and new High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)
  • Option to decline coverage: You may decline coverage if you have other health coverage outside of the KPBSD plan that meets the minimum requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). If you decline coverage, you pay no employee contribution
  • Change in open enrollment dates
  • Change in physical therapy

Open Enrollment is your once a year chance to make changes to your Health Plan election. For example, you can:

  • Add coverage for an eligible dependent
  • Choose not to cover a dependent currently enrolled in the plan
  • Change to the new High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)

FAQ:

  • What if I do nothing? Your current elections will remain the same. You and your dependents will remain enrolled in the Traditional Plan Health Care plan, along with Dental & Vision benefits.
  • When do I need my changes in this year, with necessary documentation? All forms must be completed and returned to Stacey Cockroft by 4:30 on or before Friday, December 16, 2016.
  • When is the next time I can make changes if I don't act by December 16, 2016? The next open enrollment is in November – December, 2017, unless you experience a Special Enrollment (Qualifying) event, as described in the Summary Plan Description.
