Professional Development
In order to address student learning in the 21st Century recognizing that students today are Digital Natives, coaches are available to support teachers in both effective instruction and the integration of technology in the classroom. Within a culture of collaboration, coaches will provide timely access to resources, information and best practices to support the teaching and learning process.

Curriculum Coordinator
Facilitate collaborative, standards-based curriculum design for the district. Develop and implement professional development plans to support the implementation of curriculum, curation of materials and resources for instructional.

Federal Programs & Assement Coordinator
Provide support for federal programs and oversee activities related to federal grants. Work collaboratively with program specialists to ensure programs within our district are in full alignment with grant requirements and KPBSD's strategic plan. Oversee state, and federal assessments and provide required training and oversight of assessment administration and reporting. Fulfill District Test Coordinator duties with the State of Alaska' DEED.

Lead Effective Instruction Coach
Provide support to early career teachers using the KPBSD mentoring and coaching model, onboarding to new teachers within the district, and assistance as requested to experienced teachers. Provide training and support to build capacity in the Effective Instructional Coaching team. Provide building support and professional development as needed.

Oversight of KPBSD's RTI protocol, Power School intervention database, district benchmark assessments & websites. Support professional learning for interventionists and I-Teams, chair of the RTI committee, and member of the district PD team

Title 1 Early Literacy Specialist (Lead)
Central & Eastern Peninsula
Provide support to Title I PreK and Title I K-2 literacy programs; Collaborate with Title I school administrators and Title I funded staff; Plan and carry out the annual PreK screening process in coordination with other specialists and school staff; provide organization and leadership of PLC meetings for Title I PreK teachers, community PreK partners and others who serve Title I students; Assist schools in meeting compliance requirements for all Title I requirements; Provide support to new Title I PreK teachers, Title I interventionists, and new Early Literacy Specialists; Facilitate the development of a plan for program measures of effectiveness.

Provide assistance as requested to experienced special education teachers. Provide training and support to build capacity in curriculum materials and teaching models used in special education. Provide district wide/building support and professional development as needed.

Video Tele-Communications (VTC) Coordinator
Create, Promote, Facilitate and Coordinate Video Tele Communications (VTC) opportunities for teachers and students. Develop and implement PD to support teachers who include remote students in their classrooms. Encourage and support the use of Video Conferencing in classrooms. Develop opportunities for virtual student collaborations.
