Presentations were led by River City Academy Students.

Community members recently got a hands-on learning opportunity at the 21st Century Learning Open House held at the Challenger Center. The instructors for this lesson, however, were the students from River City Academy who led a multitude of technology demonstrations. Students led experiments and presentations to illustrate the use of the new online digital content that is now at the fingertips of every student in every classroom in the District. KPBSD is now a part of the global community of educators who are utilizing digital media in the classroom to prepare students for the world of tomorrow with Discovery Education Plus. "KPBSD's use of Discovery Education is the most comprehensive in the state of Alaska," said Stephen Wakefield, Discovery Education Director of Public Relations. Discovery Education Streaming Plus provides more than 9,000 full-length videos, with content from PBS, NASA, BBC America, the Library of Congress, Scholastic and several other publishers.
